The Mission

Finding the Island in the Metropolis.

Pier to Skyline was born from a simple realization: the edge of New York is where its soul is most visible.

I’ve lived here for a decade, and yet, I still find myself breathless when the ferry turns the corner at Governor’s Island and Midtown reveals itself. It’s a specific kind of magic—the industrial grit of the piers meeting the liquid amber of a Hudson sunset.

Pier to Skyline began as a notebook full of sunset times and secret park entrances. It has since grown into a visual editorial dedicated to those who, like me, never stopped falling in love with this city. We aren’t interested in the tourist traps; we’re looking for the quiet swings at Pier 35 and the salt-air silence of Red Hook.

Romantic

But never cheesy. We find beauty in the industrial piles and the steel horizons.

Local

Welcoming to visitors, but written for those with Google Maps already open.

Visually Driven

Every story begins with a scene, a mood, or a specific angle of light.

Informed

Deep knowledge of ferry routes and sunset angles, without the pretension.
